Text Box: Bridging the gap for individuals and families.

Amanda D. Bell, M.Ed, LPC practices independently within CCCBI.  I obtained a Master’s degree in Community/Agency Counseling from Winthrop University in 2004. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the College of Charleston in 2000. The primary focus of my work and educational experience has been on providing therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and families. Those experiences include serving as a referral coordinator for a residential treatment center for emotionally-disturbed adolescents, school-health coordinator, mental health counselor for the SC Department of Mental Health, and a pre-school assessment specialist.

I am a SC Licensed Professional Counselor  (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC).  A majority of my counseling practice is based in cognitive-behavioral theory though I consider my overall philosophy to include a diverse range of theories and techniques in order to accommodate the individual client’s needs and preferences. My special interests include play therapy, developmental disorders, and grief counseling. Other training includes dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT).
