Carolina Center for Counseling

& Behavioral Interventions, LLC

Taking a cue from the 1969 moon landing, many times our children start the day at 50,000 feet. They battle all day with feelings of not being good enough or so socially overwhelmed they are isolated. During the 17 minute flight that fateful day in July, emotions ran high and the lunar module “Eagle” came within 20 seconds of running out of fuel. Then those famous words: “Houston, Tranquility base here, the Eagle has landed”.   The group will focus on taking the child from spending the day in worry or running out of fuel or landing on boulders, to how to deal with the adversities of daily life and teach them how to land safely in the Sea of Tranquility as the Apollo 11 crew did.

Children are equipped with the tools to identify sources and signs of anxiety allowing them to cope with them more effectively.

Groups are kept small in order to meet the needs of individuals  Group counseling provides children with an opportunity to learn skills and practice them in a natural environment.  Groups are available for children and adolescents of all ages.  Participants will be grouped by age, abilities, and needs.  Afternoon and weekend groups available.
