Summer Groups

 

 

Groups are currently forming for children and teens. Groups provide an environment for children to feel comfortable in learning and utilizing new skills that will help them to thrive in the world around them. Groups are designed to promote collaborative interaction that emphasizes the strengths of the participants.  Groups meet weekly and for 60 minutes (groups for children 6 years old and younger meet for 45 minutes).  Summer groups Begin the week of June 5th and continue for 8 weeks with a break the week of July 4th

Groups offered for children and adolescents include:

Ready, SET, Go-is a group geared towards children beginning kindergarten or first grade  This group meets weekly for 45 minutes.  Children will be grouped according to their needs in small groups.  Each week there will be introduction of the SET skills: Social Skills, Emotional Awareness, and Thinking Skills.

In Control- is designed to help children build the coping skills to deal with anxiety.  This group is designed for  children who have separation anxiety, OCD, or other anxiety disorders.

On Target- is designed for children and adolescents with ADHD or similar challenges.  Groups for boys and girls are available. 

Quest-is designed to meet the needs of children and teens with developmental disabilities including Asperger’s Syndrome, Autism, High Functioning Autism and PDD NOS.  These groups emphasize social skills and are grouped based on needs.

In addition, we will offer groups for children beginning middle  and high School.  These groups also emphasize social skills as well as the unique challenges faced during these time of transition.
